A True Tub Tale - The Bath Tub Diva

Porcelain heaven with bubble clouds

Once upon a time I had a break-up and to deal with it I retreated to the bathtub. It seemed like the tub was the only place that felt good anymore. At first it was a sad little scene in the bathroom filled with lots of crying and wailing (tip: wail underwater and it won’t scare the neighbors), but after a couple of weeks things started to change. I noticed the more time I spent in the tub the better I felt.

While I was in the tub I did “the work” that was needed to get through that dark time. I went to some hard places and worked through issues while steeped in bubbles. Being in the tub made it easier for me to open up, it’s a safe warm place. Of course, rubber duckies, gourmet fizz balls and soap made out of chocolate and coconut certainly helped out too.

Eventually there was less “work” and more time to think about other important things, like…..what kind of bubbles should I try tonight? What bath recipe shall I test out? Which face mask to apply?

Before that, I’d get in the tub, splash around for a bit, then get out. Ho-hum. But since that time I have become Bathtub Devotee! Or, more accurately, a Bathtub DIVA.

I truly believe baths are a blessing and can give you the space to heal and transform your life, like it did mine.

Luckily, you don’t have to be going through a crisis to get the benefits from a long, hot soak in the tub! You can jump in anytime.
