I love smearing my face with stuff whilst in the tub and a mud mask really suits me.
Want to get great skin, but don’t have the time or money to get to a spa?
Estheticians Linda Ashbrook and Ashton Chody from California’s famed Golden Door Spa came up with these awesome spa recipes you can do at home.
Facial Scrub
Mix 1/2 cup dark brown sugar, 1/2 cup sweet almond oil, 1 tbsp ground oatmeal and 1 tsp nutmeg. Cleanse face and then apply scrub to moist skin. Using middle two fingers massage into face with an upward motion. Relax for 10 minutes with a warm, wet towel, over face then rinse with tepid water, tone with Witch Hazel and apply favorite moisturizer.
Anti-aging Mask
Mash 1/4 banana until creamy. Cleanse face and then apply mask to moist skin. Leave on for 15-20 minutes, then rinse with tepid water, tone with Witch Hazel and apply favorite moisturizer.
Mask to Relieve Redness
Make a paste with small cucumber, 1 cup of oatmeal and 1 teaspoon of non-fat yogurt. Cleanse face and then apply mask to moist skin. Leave on approx 15-20 minutes, then rinse with tepid water, tone with Witch Hazel and apply favorite moisturizer.
Foot Treatment
Soak
Take a large pan and mix 1 cup of Epsom Salt and 1 teaspoon of Eucalyptus oil per gallon of warm water used. Soak feet for 10 minutes.
Scrub – mix 1/2 cup of raw sugar with 1/4 cup of honey and massage into feet for 5 minutes then rinse with tepid water. In addition to exfoliating, the honey will soften the feet and also provides antiseptic properties.
Soften – use olive oil to soften the cuticles and gently push them back. Then apply your favorite foot cream.
Finish – wrap feet in hot damp towels for 10 minutes.
