Stress strains our adrenal glands, causes restlessness & muscle fatigue, along with draining feelings, like sadness & depression.
For a bath that will help when feeling over-stressed, add these ingredients to your tub water:
- Epsom Salts – 2 cups
- Lavender Oil – 1/4 cup scented oil or 5 drops essential oil
- Peppermint – sprig or 5 drops essential oil
- Bubbles – organic, free-range bubbles are preferred, but in a pinch, Mr. Bubble is just fine
Lavender induces relaxation while peppermint strengthen the adrenals.
Epsom salts are absorbed through the skin and replenish the body’s levels of magnesium, which will raise your level of serotonin and create a feeling of well being and relaxation.
Stay in the tub at least 20 minutes to reap the benefits of this mixture.
Make it as dark as you can in the bathroom, and light a candle – it’s all about ambiance baby. Some quiet music would be lovely too don’t you think?
Do be careful when adding Essential Oils! Too much can irritate your skin and cause discomfort – and then your bath won’t be much fun at all. Put a few drops in your hand and then swish your hand in the water to disperse. When you get in the tub you can add a few more drops if desired, but don’t just shake the container over the water – you can’t tell how much is coming out!
